About The Neighbor Linkup Process

The time has come for neighbors to watch out and care for neighbors. If you are someone who has a heart to serve and you desire to be connected with needs right around your community, then it's time to join Neighbor Linkup and start choosing which projects you would like to help with.

What We Do

The Neighbor Linkup connects people with needs in the community to people who want to help for the purpose of transforming lives and communities.

All of our volunteers live in the communities in which they serve. We act as connecting point for the most vulnerable in our city, mostly single parents, lower income working families, or the elderly.

Definitions

The Process
  • Request Assistance -- Anyone can become a participant in the Neighbor Linkup system and request assistance from their neighbors. We receive requests for help via our website or telephone from churches, pastors, agencies, organizations, individuals and families in need (clients).
  • Analysis -- The need is reviewed by our staff and Volunteers.

The Coordinator:
  • Examines the need and expense of the need.
  • Determines what will be needed.
  • Mobilized others to volunteer.

The Volunteer:
  • Close to Home -- Based on Geo Coordinates, Volunteers add their address and are connected to people who has need.
  • Service --The client is helped by a volunteer from the local community and the need is met.
  • Follow-up -- Neighbor Linkup follows-up with the client and volunteer that provided the assistance.

The Recipient:
  • Close to Home -- Based on Geo Coordinates, Recipient's addresses are added and they are connected to people who can help.
  • Even Playing Field -- Both recipients and volunteers are on an equal playing field. Both have something to offer the community.
